A spring step into warmth

Expect the warmest first week of Spring in Canberra since 2006.

CANBERRA can expect the first week of spring to be the warmest since 2006.

According to the Weatherzone, despite the first day of spring being cool, we’re heading for our warmest start to spring in five years.

“During the first week, almost everywhere in southern Australia will experience its warmest early spring weather in at least five years,” Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke said.

“Temperatures will be three-to-eight degrees above average, as northerly winds drag heat from the north of the country.”

He said a cooler change will move through Perth as early as tomorrow and reach Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne this weekend.

“This change will not get to Canberra or Sydney, allowing the warmth to last a little longer,” he said.
