Spence assault and robbery

THREE men assaulted and robbed a 20-year-old man in Spence early yesterday morning.

The man was returning home after a night out with friends at around 2am. A taxi had dropped him off at the intersection of Kingsford Smith Drive and Clarey Crescent in Spence, when three men approached him and asked for a cigarette.

Police said after the victim had told the men he didn’t have a cigarette, he was assaulted and robbed of a sum of cash.

The victim was taken to Calvary hospital for treatment to facial abrasions and lacerations.

Police said the three men were described as aged in their early twenties.

Witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or visit www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
