Bomb scare at school

MACQUARIE Primary school faced a bomb scare this morning when a suspicious package was found on the school grounds.

Police were notified of the package at 8am in the school grounds on Bennelong Crescent. The area was cordoned and the specialist response and security bomb response team called in.

The package was removed by the bomb response robot to the oval where police cordoned the perimeter of the oval. The package was X-rayed and deemed safe.

The school was closed, but schools activities returned to normal at 10.15am.
