CIVIC’S vacant shopfronts are set to come alive next month with a series of music, theatre and visual art exhibitions when the Centenary of Canberra launches a surprise festival for the city’s 98th birthday. Landlords have agreed to events happening in unused shopfronts and in the lanes and courtyard of the Melbourne Building. There will even be a circus tent in front of the carousel.
