Cops bag drink drivers

POLICE have caught more than 26 people for drink driving in the past week.

The highest reading was recorded by a 53-year-old Watson man yesterday morning with a reading of 0.174.

He was caught at about 9.25am when police found him driving along the wrong side of the road on Philip Avenue, Downer. His response to police was, “I always go that way”. His licence was immediately suspended and seized.

Police caught a 35-year-old Duffy man at 10.40pm on Wednesday, August 24, during a random breath test on Namatjira Drive, Fisher. The man, who was subject to an alcohol limit of o.o5, was taken to Woden Police Station and recorded 0.146. He had nine previous drinking convictions and his licence was immediately suspended.
