Cross-border talks continue

THE ACT and NSW governments met today to discuss how best to deliver health services across the border and maximise the potential of the region surrounding Canberra.

Chief Minister Katy Gallagher said the meeting built on the talks last month with Jillian Skinner.

“At that meeting I agreed to work towards developing options for more efficient use of our hospitals to better meet the needs of the region,” she said.

“The agreement reached today signals the preparedness of both governments to work together to provide a regional response to the challenges ahead.”

Gallagher said it was essential the ACT and NSW Governments are able to deliver a regional approach to areas of health, education, transport, emergency services and planning.
