Drug bust, man charged

A MAN has been arrested and charged for drug trafficking after $20,000 worth of drugs was seized from his home.

Detectives searched the 21-year-old Forde man’s home at around 3.30pm yesterday and seized more than 700 pills suspected to be MDMA (a basic ingredient used in ecstasy) and some cannabis.

Police also seized cash during the search warrant.

Police said the potential street value for the seized drugs is estimated to be more than $20,000.

The man was charged with traffic in cannabis, traffic in a controlled drug other than cannabis, and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

He faces the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, where bail will be opposed.
