“CityNews” asked Estée Lauder’s premier make-up artist Jahi Ireland how to achieve a classic, simple smokey eye.

“For the ultimate smokey eye, try using a palette of sultry grey shades over traditional black hues,” Jahi says.

“Metallics are the hottest and most modern textures seen on the catwalks at the moment. For the quickest and easiest application, brush a strong shade of grey over the entire eyelid and stipple the colour into the lid to build intensity.

“Winged eyeliner is certainly a high trend. For a simple make-up artist finish, try the ‘winged’ look by brushing the liner from bottom of lash line upwards and outwards. This controls the direction of the winged effect and is generally mistake proof.

“Finish with three coats of a lash-building mascara and don’t forget the brows. Remember the fuller the brows, the better. Feather in brows with a pencil or matte eyeshadow to complete the look.”
