NOVEMBER will be the likely month the ACT Branch of the Labor Party will announce preselections for next year’s election.
“Last year’s federal preselection proved that we are fortunate to have a large, experienced and talented pool of candidates to choose from,” ACT Branch secretary Elias Hallaj said.
“There are already potential Labor candidates sounding out support within the Australian Labor Party and in the wider community.”
The ALP will need to preselect at least 11 candidates, now John Hargreaves has announced his retirement, on top of the existing Labor representatives in the Legislative Assembly.
A preliminary timetable for Labor preselection was released last week, with nominations open on Friday, October 28, and the ballot on Saturday, November 26.
