Party time for pets!

IT’S party time for pets this Sunday when RSPCA ACT holds its annual Pets’ Party.

The party will include food, live music from jazz band Blue4, dog parades and entertainment for both owners and pets.

“Once a year we celebrate the joy of pets at RSPCA by opening the shelter to the general public and throwing a party,” RSPCA ACT CEO Michael Linke said.

“With lots to see and do the day is very popular and also a way for RSPCA to show the fine work we have done in the past year.

“We will again find new homes for more than 2000 animals, investigate more than 1000 cruelty allegations, release 1000 native animals back to the wild and reunite over 1200 lost pets with their owners this year.”

Canberran Gemma Alliston will also be awarded the National Cup Cake Day Trophy  for raising the most money across the country for Cup Cake Day.

Cup Cake Day raised more than $100,000 for RSPCA with Gemma raising more than $7000.

RSPCA ACT Pets’ Party at the 12 Kirkpatrick Street, Weston from 10am to 2pm on November 13. Entry is a gold coin donation.
