Rink gets extra time

SKATE in the City sessions have been extended to Sunday.

The skate rink now will be open for 10 extra skate sessions on Saturday and Sunday including one session on Saturday night.

Canberra CBD Limited CEO Stephen Gregory said everyone was absolutely thrilled with the response to the event and Garema Place had been a hive of activity during July.

“We have made the decision to keep the rink open for two extra days and Tossolini’s Apres Cafe will also remain onsite,” he said.

“It’s been a magical month for the heart of the city and discussion has already begun for 2012.

“It’s already looking bigger with some new activity being planned.

“I’d certainly encourage people to book as soon as possible as this will be the last opportunity to experience what tens of thousands of skaters have enjoyed during Canberra’s 2011 Skate in the CIty event.”
