CAN’T get enough of the Queen?

To see images of the Queen’s previous visits to Canberra, visit the ACT Heritage Library’s ImagesACT website, which features more than 8,000 digitised photos including shots of other visits to Canberra by the Queen.

“By typing ‘Queen Elizabeth’ into the search field you will find 131 images which include previous visits by the Queen, and a lot more about the life of Canberra, including previous Prime Ministers, coronation celebrations both social and military, facilities named in the Queen’s honour and the construction of key monuments,” Libraries ACT director Vanessa Little said.

ImagesACT also features photos of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s visit to Canberra in 1983.

The ACT Heritage Library, open to the public, is located upstairs at the Woden Library and holds 300,000 images, more than 63,000 catalogued public documents and more than 280 manuscript collections.
