Shuttle flight offers food

A selection of Virgin's new complimentary inflight service.

VIRGIN Airlines has launched a new daily shuttle service between Canberra and Sydney that includes free snacks and drinks.

The Capital Connect service will run 10 returns services a day between the cities.

Virgin Australia Group executive for product and guest services, Martin Daley said Capital Connect users will have the choice from a three category menu, with high quality gourmet snacks, introduced as part of the airline’s enhanced inflight product offering.

“This complimentary inflight service is unique to this route and is part of our overall brand repositioning which includes; introduction of the new Virgin Australia Business Class: newly renovated lounges; and a range flexible fares,” he said.

On flights after 4pm, complimentary beer and wine will be available and complimentary newspapers on flights before 12 noon each day.

Currently, Virgin operates eight return services each day between Canberra and Sydney but hope with the introduction of the ATR aircraft this will grow to 10 by October.
