A 21-year-old was arrested for aggravated robbery last night after holding a knife to a taxi driver and refusing to pay a taxi charge in Canberra’s South.
At about 6pm, the taxi driver drove the alleged offender to an address in Gordon and when the driver asked for payment, the offender refused and told him that he was in possession of a knife.
The taxi driver began driving to Tuggeranong Police Station, when the offender held a knife to the victim. They arrived at the police station and the alleged offender was arrested.
The offender will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with aggravated robbery.
