Three attack man

A 48-year-old man fought off three men who attempted to rob him last night in Richardson.

At around 6.45pm, the man was walking near the Johnson Drive underpass in Richardson when three men approached him.

Police said one of the men asked the victim if he had anything for him, and when the victim told them he had nothing, one of the men punched him in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground.

The victim managed to get off the ground and fought back, preventing any of his property being taken. The three offenders left empty handed.

The man was taken to the Canberra Hospital for injuries to his stomach, shoulders and ribs.
