Vision for Kambah’s future

The expanded area considered as part of the draft master plan for Kambah group centre.

THE Kambah group centre’s draft master plan has been released, showing a projection of what’s to come in the next 20 to 30 years.

According to the draft plan, the vision for the project is: “Kambah group centre will be a landmark element marking the entry into the Tuggeranong Valley.

“It will provide an attractive and convenient commercial hub for the residents of Kambah and the broader Tuggeranong community, particularly those moving to and from the Valley via Drakeford Drive.

“It will offer a large range of goods and services in competition with each other and be an amenable place for people to live, work and interact.”

Improvements include: an extended central plaza; new circulation for traffic including a provision for a street  along the floodway; two additional sites for retail development; new opportunities for mixed use and residential development; and residential development and the extension of Kett Street.

Feedback from the community into the master plan closes Friday September 16. To view the plan visit, www.actpla.act.gov.au/kambah
