Australia’s Olympic gold set in stamps

AFTER winning gold in the Women’s Freestyle Relay on Saturday, swimmers Alicia Coutts, Cate Campbell, Brittany Elmslie and Melanie Schlanger will be the first Australian athletes to feature on the Australian Gold Medallist Stamps for the London Olympic Games.

Australia won the 4x100m relay in 3:33.15, which is an Olympic record.

Stamps featuring Coutts, Campbell, Elmslie and Schlanger with their gold medals will be available in participating Australia Post retail outlets from tomorrow.

Australia Post will produce stamps for every Australian gold medallist from the London Olympic Games, and they are expected to be available in participating Australia Post retail outlets within 48 hours of each gold medal presentation.

“This program recognises the hard work and success of our athletes,” said Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour.

“It also provides the public with an exciting opportunity to collect their own memento of the Olympic Games.”
