Belco celebrates with local arts and produce

ON the first day of summer—that’s this Saturday, December 1,  Belconnen Arts Centre will host its Christmas Twilight Celebration Market.

This hugely successful annual event allows Canberrans to art and design products from local artisans and food and wine from local producers.

live entertainment will be provided by a variety of very talented local musicians including flautist Kiri Sollis (Griffyn Ensemble), Carl Sampson and Juliette Flook (Montparnasse), Mother Christmas (prizewinning actor Chrissie Shaw) and BAC Artists in Residence – Shades of Monday Choir led by director Nicole Nunan.

Arts Centre staff say they are  committed to supporting artists and producers whose products are made from natural or environmentally-friendly materials using low environmental-impact processes.

The Twilight Market will feature estate grown wines and olive oils; gourmet chocolates and preserves; ceramic tableware and figurines; framed paintings, drawings and other artworks; woven scarves and wraps; handmade cards and notebooks; etched and lithographed bookmarks; felted, woven and hand sewn childrens’ and adults’ clothing and accessories; mixed media, porcelain, glass, silver, gold and titanium jewellery.
