BMW robbers fail to take off with cash

A MAN has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after two men smashed his car window with a metal pole and demanded money.

Around 11.50am, police were called to Tralee Street in Hume after two men driving a silver BMW attempted to rob a man while he was sitting in his car. One of the men smashed a window of the victim’s car with a metal pole and demanded money.

The victim was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment of facial injuries. No money was stolen during the robbery.

The man armed with the metal pole is described as having a medium build, had his face covered with a bandana and was wearing a baseball cap.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the attempted aggravated robbery, or seen a silver BMW travelling at high speed along Tralee Street, Hume or along the Monaro Highway towards the Tuggeranong area to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
