ACT Minister for Education and Training, Joy Burch today congratulated the ACT’s outstanding students at the ACT’s 2012 Board of Senior Secondary Studies Recognition of Excellence Ceremony.
These awards do not cover Canberra Grammar School, which participates in the NSW HSC system.
The awards recognise students who received the highest Australian Tertiary Admission Ranks (ATAR) result in their respective college. They also recognise Community Service, Performing and Visual Arts, Vocational Studies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
“This year, 108 students across 23 colleges were recognised,” Ms Burch said.
“The awards are recognition of the students’ commitment to their goals and their purposeful striving for excellence. Of course, we must also acknowledge the support of family, friends and teachers who have contributed to their success.”
