Burning issues and radical Ideas

THE recently formed Childers Group, described as “an independent voice for the arts”, is holding its inaugural forum to be held after Easter and to be facilitated by ABC Radio’s Genevieve Jacobs.

According to spokesperson, David Williams, “the forum has the theme of ‘Burning Issues and Radical Ideas’.  We are aiming to stimulate and change the conversation about the arts in the ACT region.  I have no doubt our speakers and those attending will do just that”.

The speakers will be Robyn Archer, creative director, Centenary of Canberra: Vicki Dunne, Opposition spokesperson for the Arts; Caroline Le Couteur, and the Greens Spokesperson for the Arts; Omar Musa, urban poet/performer; and Yolande Norris, art commentator and “You Are Here” festival producer.

Childers Group forum, at The Street Theatre 5.30pm, Wednesday, April 18.  If you wish to attend, notify Shoeb Ahmad at The Street Theatre on ushers@thestreet.org.au or 6247 1223, by April 16.
