Canberra prefers NRL in Grand Final battle

DESPITE a strong Swans following here in the capital and the Canberra Raiders not making it through, the NRL grand final out-rated the AFL clincher.

Last week, the AFL Grand Final audience peaked at just over 71,000 viewers in Canberra, and this week’s figures show the NRL Storm vs Bulldogs clash drawing more than 83,000.

On the back of the football, WIN bounced back to set up a share for the week that was line-ball with PRIME.

TEN’s Big Brother did little to help, however, with episodes averaging just 21,500 viewers and the best-rating BB, with just 28,800 viewers, coming in at No. 28 for the week.

The ABC continues to perform well in peak viewing times, in contrast to its showing nationally, while TEN has lifted it share this week with NCIS appearing at No. 6 on the chart.
