Canberra student shortlisted in writing award

A 14 year old school student from Flynn has today been announced as a finalist for the John Marsden Prize for Young Australian Writers.

Ingrid Brett was chosen from 600 entrants from around Australia for her poem, “My Name is Growing.”

Winners of each category will be announced by Marsden as part of the 2012 Express Media Awards on Friday, December 7, from 6pm at the Wheeler Centre inMelbourne.

Winners share in $5,500 of prize money and are also published online at Express Media and in the December issue of Voiceworks magazine.
