The study, conducted by Newspoll, interviewed 1000 locals and found an overall percentage of 83 per cent never use Twitter.
This figure dropped to 74 per cent among 18-34s but rose to 98 per cent of those 65 plus.
As a social media platform, Twitter is well behind Facebook, which is used by 60 per cent of Canberrans.
