Cement truck veers off road

A CEMENT truck crashed on Gundaroo Drive yesterday after the driver of another vehicle allegedly cut off the truck while trying to overtake.

About 2.05pm, the 2005 yellow Mack truck concrete blender filled with a 7.4 cubic metre load was heading west on Gundaroo Drive  towards the roundabout at the Burrowa Street intersection, when a vehicle described as an old  tipper truck allegedly caused the truck to veer off the road.

Police said the cement truck clipped the gutter causing it to tip on to its left-hand side, sliding about 10 to 15 metres.

The tipper truck allegedly “cut off” the truck while trying to overtake when approaching the roundabout.

The driver of the cement truck was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
