Centenary gets $1m from ActewAGL

ACTEWAGL is to spend $1million on the Centenary of Canberra as principal partner.

“The Centenary events will bring value to our customers and Canberra businesses many tens of times more than the value of this sponsorship,” ActewAGL chairman John Mackay said.

“It is our absolute privilege to support the Centenary of Canberra as the principal partner. We were attracted to this opportunity as it’s not just about one day – a year of activities are planned to engage the whole community and, in so doing, attract many tourists to our great city from right across the nation.

“The Centenary of Canberra is the most significant event on the Australian calendar in 2013. As a city we have the opportunity to showcase what’s great about our home and the chance to leave a lasting legacy to take us confidently into the next century.”
