CALIFORNIA’S rock and soul band, “Allensworth,” are at the Phoenix Bar tonight, September 3 as part of an East Coast tour, performing along with Australian folk rock artist, Julia Rose.
The band recently took out Orange County’s best live band in the US, and has opened for Herbie Hancock, Maceo Parker and James Brown.
Frontman Jamie Allensworth describes their music as “Feelgood music…kinda like a cross between Sly and the Family Stone and Beck…we lay heavy on the soul tip and you can definitely feel the southern Cali influence.”
