Film, food and fun at Manuka

Jean Reno and Michael Youn in "Le Chef"
FILM, food and friendly hospitality will combine when Greater Union Manuka launches its new “Films for Foodies” program.

The Manuka movie house plans to create a new cocktail of fine food and fine cinema.

Today,  Tuesday, June 12, a function with fine wine, a talk from from a wine steward  and an entertaining presentation from chef Paolo Milanesi who has arrived at Canberra’s popular Locanda Restaurant from the two Michelin star “BELvue” restaurant. Guests will then be served an advanced screening of “Le Chef”, starring Jean Reno.

Alexandre (Jean Reno) plays a Michelin awarded chef who is battling his interfering boss and, worse, a rival chef who practises “molecular gastronomy”.  Alexandre desperately needs an assistant to help him manage the restaurant’s two daily sittings. Then one day, as luck would have it, he meets the self-trained cook Jacky (Michaël Youn).

Tickets for each “Films for Foodies” event are $25 and include a take home “foodie” goodie bag.

Bookings to eventcinemas.com.au or  tickets at the box office.
