Gallagher identifies sister in hospital hearing

CHIEF Minister Katy Gallagher has this afternoon identified her sister, a nurse at the Canberra Hospital, as the family member in her earlier declaration of potential personal conflict of interest in the evolving data-doctoring scandal.

Giving evidence to an often rowdy, recalled session of the Assembly’s Estimates Select Committee, the Chief Minister under questioning by Liberal health spokesman Jeremy Hanson, revealed that her sister has also been interviewed, on oath, by the auditor-general, whose report this week identified 11,700.

Ms Gallagher said her sister, a clinical nurse consultant,  has done nothing wrong and has been cleared by the auditor-general’s investigation. personal relationship.

Ms Gallagher’s sister was identified as working to the person identified in the auditor-general’s report as having admitted to tampering with statistical data in the emergency department. The report also suggested that the data changes were likely to have been done by more than one person.

There was no suggestion that Ms Gallagher’s sister was involved in any data manipulation.
