Gonzales performs a Spanish classic

SPANISH pianist Guillermo González will be performing in the Foyer of the National Library of Australia on Thursday March 29 at 7pm. He will be playing “Iberia” by Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz.

Born in Tenerife, González is considered a great specialist in Spanish music and one of the most important Spanish pianists.

His long career has earned him critical praise and honours, not least the  National Music Award, the highest such award granted by the Spanish government.

González has performed as soloist with orchestras such as Dresden Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain and Madrid Symphony Orchestra and in Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, France, China, Russia, the US,  and throughout Latin America.

Since 2005, he has led an ambitious project with the Shanghai Conservatory and the China Central Conservatory to teach and spread the Spanish Music inChina.
