How the public holiday will affect our services

THE Anzac Day holiday will affect some trading hours for services including the libraries, ACTION buses and Canberra Connect.

Libraries ACT – Libraries ACT branches including the Mobile Library will be closed. After hours return chutes are located at each library and are available for the return of library materials 24 hours a day. Library members can still make use of all online services including searching, reserving and renewing of items by visiting the Libraries ACT website www.library.act.gov.au.

ACTION Buses – ACTION buses will operate to a Sunday timetable. Additionally, free chartered services to the Anzac Dawn Service will depart from Tuggeranong, Woden, City, Gungahlin and Belconnen Bus Stations to the War Memorial from 4 am. Return services depart 20 minutes after the Dawn Service concludes.

More information at www.action.act.gov.au or call the ACTION Bus Information Line on 13 17 10 between 9 am and 5 pm on Anzac Day, or before 8 pm on Tuesday April 24. The MyWay Centres in Belconnen and Civic will be closed.

Canberra Connect (13 22 81) – Opening hours from 9 am until 5 pm. It will be available after hours for call-out service providers only such as wildlife rangers, road maintenance services and ACT property maintenance services. This does not include payment services or detailed ACT Government information. The Canberra Connect Shopfronts and Civic Driver’s Licence Service will be closed.

Canberra Nature Parks and Reserves – Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, Namadgi National Park and Googong Foreshores will retain normal operating hours. Domestic Animal Services (DAS) Shelter. The DAS Shelter will be closed on Anzac Day. Emergency after hours services for dog attacks or injured dogs and cats are available by contacting Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.

Waste Management Services – There will be no disruptions to household garbage and waste collection services. Mitchell and Mugga Lane Resource Management Centres, Canberra Sand and Gravel (not an ACT Government facility) and West Belconnen regional recycling facilities will remain open.

Yarralumla Nursery – The Yarralumla Nursery Garden Centre will be open from 1 pm until 4.30 pm. The Wholesale Nursery will be closed. [/box]
