Most of the senior Liberal team have held their key portfolio responsibilities, but the elevation of Vicki Dunne to the Speaker’s chair and the election of two new members to the Liberal team has lead to a broad reallocation of smaller portfolio responsibilities.

“This Shadow Cabinet takes a different approach than we have before, and introduces a range of new portfolios, new ideas and new ways of addressing the needs of the Territory,” says Seselja.

“I have created a new portfolio specifically dedicated to making Cost of Living a number one focus for our team.

“Another new portfolio is Utilities. Water and energy costs and management are just as important as water and energy provision and sustainability, and I will be personally taking on this crucial aspect of our new cabinet.

“I will also be taking on the Shadow Attorney General portfolio, and grouping that with related areas such as Police, Corrections, Emergency Services and Industrial Relations. These are all related areas and it makes managerial sense to have them grouped together.”

Deputy leader Brendan Smyth retains the Treasury portfolio, but picks up Economic Diversification, Environment and the Arts to add to his Business, Tourism, Gambling and Racing responsibilities.

Alistair Coe continues as TAMS shadow, as well as Planning and Infrastructure and Transport.

Jeremy Hanson retains Health and Veterans Affairs, but will pick up Family and Community Services, Housing and Disability Services.

Steve Doszpot retains Education, but picks up another new portfolio ICT as well as Ageing and Sport and Recreation.

Newcomers Giulia Jones has Women and Multicultural Affairs, and Andrew Wall will be speak for Youth and Indigenous Affairs.

Seselja said Speaker Dunne would relinquish all shadow Ministerial responsibilities, nor would she be present during Question Time meetings.
