Man killed in two-car smash

A 53-year-old Narrabundah man was killed in a car accident last night in Narrabundah.

Police said early investigations indicate about 6.55pm, a white Toyota Corolla, driven by the man, was turning right from Captain Cook Crescent onto Jerrabomberra Avenue when it collided with a red Toyota Camry which was travelling northbound along Jerrabomberra Avenue.

Both drivers were taken to The Canberra Hospital, where the man died. The woman driving the other car was treated for minor injuries.

This is the fourth person to have died on ACT roads this year.

ACT Policing’s Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the cause of the collision and will prepare a report for the ACT Coroner.

Witnesses are urged to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
