MBFW report: how to wear neon hair

ONE of Australia’s favourite designers, Lisa Ho wowed the crowds at fashion week with with technicolor injected into tropical prints.

But the models’ hair was striking too with sleek neon hair inserts to compliment the look.

Colour inserts are a strong trend for the new season. If you’re not game to try permanent shades, try contrasting wefts in the hair to recreate this Redken look. Divide the hair horizontally, in line with the top of the ear and clip in a coloured hair weft.

Redken Hair Director Kenneth Stoddart says of the look, “the Lisa Ho girl is young spirited, vibrant and playful. I think this long, sleek and wispy look captured this idea perfectly. Mixing in the colour feature adds to her confidence and edge without being too over the top.”

Using Redken Layer Lift 07, $29.95, Redken Iron Silk 07, $29.95 and Redken Shine Flash 02,$29.95 here’s how to get the look:

1. Starting with dry hair, spray Redken Layer Lift 07 around the top of the head. Blow-dry downwards into a
centre part.
2. Divide hair into four sections, spray Redken Iron Silk 07 on sections and iron the hair straight from roots
to ends working up to the part. Use a comb to separate the hair as you smooth the irons through.
3. Comb from roots to ends and iron again, ensuring hair is smooth and straight.
4. Finish with Redken Shine Flash 02 for a glossy result. The end look is long, thin and light hair.
