MBFWA report: hot looks for hands

IF we needed any evidence that half moon manicures are set to be the hottest trend for hands, fashion week has provided it.

The eye catching talons were shown on models at Michael Lo Sordo and Magdalena Velevska shows this week.

Essie for Michael Lo Sordo channelled the enchanted jungle with their partnership of the khaki toned “Sew Psyched” and the sandy “Case Study” which was then alternated across the models, reversing the shades for chic yet subtle point of difference.

Miss Frou Frou for Magdalena Velevska used the classic Miss Frou Frou “Flesh” tone as the base before alternating the accent colour of the half-moon design with bold colours that varied from model to model. The accent colour was specifically selected to complement the collection and the bold tones of the half-moon acted a vibrant constant to the classic nude.

Michael Lo Sordo says of the look: “Nails are so important to finish off the overall look of the collection.”

Polishes by Essie, $18.95, from Myer and Miss Frou Frou, $24.95, from Valonz (02 9360 2444).
