Music Foundation wins a Yogie

THE Australian Children’s Music Foundation, an organisation helping young people at Bimberi to express themselves through music, has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Youth Participation Award at today’s “Yogies”, which recognise outstanding practice in working with people aged 12 to 25 years in the ACT.

ACT Minister for Disability, Children and Young People Joy Burch announced the winners today, saying, “Every day individuals and organisations in the youth sector are carrying out invaluable work that is helping young people overcome some immense challenges.”

The SPICE program, through Volunteering ACT, won the “Collaboration for Change” Award and individual awards went to Benjamin Kane, Youth Connections, YWCA of Canberra for the Outstanding Youth Worker Award and the Outstanding New Talent Award went to Robin Sale, Y. Engage, Northside Community Service.
