No arrests in Australia Day protests

ACT Policing has finalised their investigation into the Australia Day protests at The Lobby and will make no arrests.

On January 26, Prime Minister Julia Gillard was chased out of the restaurant by angry protesters from the nearby Tent Embassy. Despite the ongoing investigation by ACT police, no prosecutions will be pursued into the case.

ACT Policing said the investigation into the Australia Day public order incidents was separate to an AFP investigation of alleged disclosure of the event details, which has been finalised.
