Radical music at The Street

CO-PRESENTED by the New Music Network, the ensemble New Radicals brings Canberra audiences “modern folk music gone insane – think megaphones, bell laden gloves and a mass of melodicas”.

The group performs works by six-cutting edge composers, hand picked from around the globe.

The players are Veronique Serret (violin), Geoffrey Gartner (cello), Lamorna Nightingale (flute), Jason Noble (clarinet), Zubin Kanga (keyboard), Claire Edwardes (percussion), Zane Banks (electric guitar) and James Crabb (accordion).

Classical music, they say, “is not just alive, it’s kicking!”

The works  are Yannis Kyriakides’ “Zeimbekiko 1918”, Ekrem Mulayim’s “and e chart the topography of a moment WP”, Michael Norris’s  “Save Yourself WP”, Simon Steen-Andersen’s “On and Off and To and Fro”, Oyvind Torvund’s “Neon Forest Space” and  Matthew Wright’s “Breakdown”.

New Radicals, at The Street Theatre, Sunday, April, 1, 6pm Bookings to www.thestreet.org.au
