Red Hill house fire causes $100k damage

A SWIFT response from fire crews prevented a Red Hill house from being completely destroyed by a blaze last night.

Firefighters were called at 7.39pm and arrived at the property on Investigator Street within six minutes to prevent the fire from totally destroying the property.

The fire reportedly started in the garage of house and spread through the roof space, with extensive damage to approximately 25-per cent of the property, causing an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

Fire crews remained on scene overnight to prevent any reignition.

Routine fire cause determination will be undertaken today.
