Scullin shops upgrade begins

THE $1.12million upgrade to Scullin shops has begun and will include new lighting, street furniture, a toilet block and improved pedestrian access.

“Community feedback in recent years has demonstrated that locals place great value and pride in the amenity of their local shops, and I know that Scullin residents have been keen to see this upgrade commence,” Chief Minister and Minister for Territory and Municipal Services Katy Gallagher said.

Construction is expected to be completed by June.

Other upgrades include: landscaping works; improved stormwater drainage; street furniture including, seats, bins and community noticeboard; and public artwork.

Through the project’s consultation, suggestions from locals and traders were included in the final design.
