Shoppers secure school goodies

KAMBAH’S St Thomas the Apostle Primary School will be presented with educational toys, geometric models, Lego sets and classroom equipment on Wednesday thanks to community support of a shopping incentive.

Shoppers in the ACT collected more than 700,00 Woolworths’ Earn & Learn points for the 70 participating schools.  St Thomas the Apostle Primary was the highest point earner with 31,000 points.

Principal David Thiele said: “It has been a wonderful community effort and we are very grateful to our school and local community and everyone involved in the program that helped us secure these new resources; the children and teaching staff are very excited about their arrival.”

Nationally, more than $4.5 million worth of educational supplies have been redeemed by the 6900 participating schools. Between July and October, shoppers were encouraged to send their dockets to local primary and secondary schools on the basis that every $10 spent earned one Earn & Learn point that registered schools could redeem.
