Teen dancers head east and west

Hannah Evans and Michael Post.

CANBERRA dance students Hannah Evans and Michael Post have been offered places at the NZ School of Dance for 2013 and Michael has also been offered a place at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, says teacher Lisa Clark.

“This is a great achievement for both students and shows that your dancing dreams can come true,” she says.

Hannah, 16, has been dancing with Lisa Clark since she was four and Michael, 17, has been a student for the past three years.

“In these three years my dream of becoming a professional dancer has slowly become a reality,” says Michael.

Hannah is excited, too, saying: “For the past 12 years I have taken part in classes, exams, eisteddfods and concerts. I have dreamed of attending a full-time national ballet school for many years and now I am getting ready to begin training at the NZ School of Dance. I feel ready to take this big step in my dance career.

The Lisa Clark Dance Centre will present  “I Believe”, at the Canberra Theatre, Friday, November 30 and a matinee, Saturday, December 1. Tickets from canberraticketing.com.au, or call 6275 2700.

I think this is a great chance to explore their skills in a new setting.
