The April Maze for Yass

THE Oddfellows’  Hall in  Yass is branching out into entertainment as well as art, and tomorrow will present  Melbourne duo, The April Maze, as a special pre-Christmas entertainment aimed at supporting live music in the town.

Artist Kim Nelson is behind the event, and he points out the duo became an overnight success, with their new album “Two,” catapulted into the spotlight at “Spotify,” the world’s biggest music streaming service and getting listed on that site’s top 100 Releases.

Combining vocals with a blend of cello, guitar, banjo, a stomp box and lots of 70s inspired harmonies, The April Maze is comprised of Sivan Agam and Todd Mayhew.

Their debut album in 2010, “Recycled Soul” and their second album, have gone some distance into making them the next big thing.

In “Two,” they have recorded stripped-back renditions of The Beatles, Coldplay, Silverchair, Bob Marley and The Hooters.

“The April Maze” at The Oddfellows’ Hall in Comur  St Yass,  7.30pm Saturday,  December  15, tickets at door.
