Theatre in the pink for a good cause

TONIGHT the Canberra Theatre Centre will floodlight its building pink after dark on as part of a bid to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.

But it doesn’t turn dark until after well after the commencement of the new show by Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, so theatre patrons will walk into a normal building and walk out of a pink building 130 minutes later.

It’s a good match. The Trocks, as the boys in the ballet are known, is an all-male troupe made of dancers who seems to love pretty colours.

The Canberra community can get involved in the theatre centre’s collaboration to raise money for the foundation by donating cash to the collection tins that will be made  available in the foyer from 6.30pm.

McGrath Foundation ambassador and director, Tracy Bevan, praised the support from Australian communities which helps the foundation to place McGrath breast care nurses in communities across Australia and increase breast awareness in young Australian women.

The Trocks, Nov 6-7, at the Canberra Theatre, booking to 6275 2700 or canberratheatrecentre.com.au
