Thieves snatch 40 bikes worth $300k

ABOUT 40 high-end bicycles, worth around $300,000 in total, were stolen on the weekend in Fyshwick.

Police say between 8pm Friday and 9am yesterday offenders broke into a secure trailer parked on Townsville Street, Fyshwick and removed the bicycles from the racks, loading them into an unidentified vehicle.

Police believe the process of unloading and reloading the bikes would have taken the offenders around an hour.

The bicycles are high performance models and are not yet available to the public, with an estimated value of approximately $300,000.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on Townsville Street on the weekend should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, orwww.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
