Dribbling thief robs woman

A WOMAN was robbed in Glebe Park yesterday afternoon by a man armed with a knife.

About 5.20pm the woman walked through Glebe Park towards the gate at the intersection of Coranderrk and Amaroo Streets, in Reird when she was approached by the man. She handed over a sum of cash, the man turned and walked away. The woman sustained no injuries from the robbery.

Police said the woman flagged down a man driving a white van on Coranderrk Street, however the driver could not understand what she was saying and drove away.

The offender is described as 170cm tall, very skinny and weak looking, and about 25 years old. He was wearing a light grey coloured beanie and plain light grey hooded jumper, black pants and slip on shoes.

Police said the man was also described as walking “in a strange way dragging his feet”.

The man is also described as having an unusually thin bottom lip, small face and eyes and low eyebrows. The man also had “a large amount of spit around his mouth when he spoke, with a possibly Australian accent”.

Witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
