Zumba star to share his moves

Zumba star Enrique Salomao
WORLD-renowned Brazilian Zumba educator Enrique Salomao is hosting a 90-minute master class at Chapman Primary School, Perry Street, Chapman from 6.30pm, on  Thursday, December 13.

Local Zumba instructor, Kiki Hernandez,  says this is a rare chance to see one of the fitness program’s experts in action.

Salomao was one of Zumba creator “Beto” Perez’s first students in Bangkok seven years ago. He now travels the world promoting the program and conducting instructor training.

“He has been performing since he was just seven years old and brings the true Latin flavour to all his classes. He’s a real inspiration to Zumba instructors around the world.”

Zumba, which is a Colombian word for having fun and moving fast, is a combination of Latin dance styles – salsa, merengue, samba and reggaeton.

The class is for Zumba lovers of all experience and fitness levels, including people who had never tried it.

“A lot of people say they are too unco-ordinated, but it really doesn’t matter. And a master class can be a great introduction to Zumba – not only do people get to learn from the best, but chances are the choreography on show is new to all participants… so new Zumberas are on an even footing with addicts!” says Kiki.

The cost is $20 for pre-bookings by phoning Kiki on 0416 624 695, or $25 at the door.
