Brass for lunch today

DO you like good brass music? Trumpet section

As part of the ongoing “musical offering” of free pop-up concerts all around Canberra for the centenary, you can catch the Hoffmann Brass Ensemble performing at the Canberra Centre today (Wednesday) under the trees near the fountain.

The ensemble is a small group made up of members from the Canberra City Band, named after the late Canberra music critic and founder of the band, W.L. Hoffmann.

The group was formed to provide band players the opportunity to explore sounds and instruments within the brass genre.

One Response to Brass for lunch today

They were great! One person (a federal police office, who was off-duty) told me he was visiting from Melbourne. He said he couldn’t think of anything nicer than eating his lunch sitting under the trees, near the fountain and listening to these lovely trumpets.
