TUGGERANONG has a new bulk-billing GP clinic at Chisholm.
The Benham Street clinic, which was opened this morning by local MLA Joy Burch, brings to six the number of clinics across Canberra owned and operated by the newly named National Health Co-Op, formerly known as the West Belconnen Health Co-Op.
“It is fantastic that we are now able to offer Tuggeranong residents 100 per cent bulk-billed GP services – no matter the patient’s circumstances they are guaranteed to be bulk-billed,” National Health Co-Op chairman, Adrian Watts, said.
“We are excited that we are now able to offer the same great services to those living in the south of Canberra, especially since Government figures show that the ACT is historically well below the national average in regards to bulk-billed GP services.
“With the addition of the Chisholm clinic, we are now providing family friendly, bulk-billing GP services to over 20,000 Canberrans.
“With our expansion into the Tuggeranong area and with plans to expand nationally, we thought it was time we changed our name to reflect our current and future plans.”
The Chisholm clinic is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, and is available to anyone who pays a small annual fee, which gives them access to bulk-billed medical appointments with the doctor of the patient’s choice.
The co-operative’s other clinics are at Charnwood, Belconnen, Page, Evatt and Holt.
