Citizens arrest for Gungahlin vandals

A MEMBER of the public helped catch two vandals who were damaging and egging multiple cars in Gungahlin on Saturday.

Police say they were responding to reports of property damage around the Doris Turner Street Forde area at 7.35pm when the man grabbed the 21-year-old male and female and handed them over to police.

Damage included the egging of motor vehicles along Horsepark Drive and Majura Road.

Officer-in-Charge of Gungahlin Station Sergeant Jeff Knight says anyone who had their vehicle damaged on Saturday afternoon police should contact Police Operations on 131444.

“While this matter may seem trivial, it is distressing for the victims to find their property damaged by this senseless act. We would encourage people to report the matter as we have apprehended two people for this act,” Sergeant Knight says.

Anyone who may have witnessed the damage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
